چکیده

Abstract Background Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a dilated that affects women in the peripartum period. The incidence of PPCM United States 1,100 per year. We studied admission diagnosed with to intensive care unit (ICU) goal identifying factors increase risk for adverse outcomes. Methods This was retrospective study 2,286 patients diagnosis admitted private hospital system across between years 2017 and 2021. Logistical regression analysis utilized identify specific patient characteristics were associated ICU. Results average age 32.13 years. cohort 39.76% black, 39.15% white, 13.12% Hispanic. length stay 3.35 days. Preeclampsia present 342 (14.96%) patients, cerebral infarction 31 (1.36%) eclampsia 48 (2.10%) myocardial (MI) 52 (2.27%) HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets) syndrome 24 (1.05%) patients. There total 504 (22.05%) (adjusted odds ratio [adj. OR] 1.588, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.215–2.074, p<0.001), (adj. OR 3.131, CI 1.718–5.708, 4.381, 2.028–9.463, 0.967, 0.953–0.982, MI 2.961, 1.608–5.455, 4.655, 1.926–11.256, p<0.001) all increased requiring ICU level care. However, hypertension, d-dimer level, troponin active tobacco smoking, alcohol use, diabetes mellitus not likelihood Conclusion In our PPCM, we found statistically significant predictors included age, syndrome, eclampsia, preeclampsia, MI, infarction. data may be useful early identification triaging require higher These results can developing score assist this goal.
